Bassist Cucho Martinez has long been a revered presence in Latin jazz rhythm sections, supporting the ensembles of Horace Silver, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Paquito D'Rivera, and many more. Also adept at maracas and cuatro, he is perhaps best known for his 50-year partnership with the late, great percussionist Ray Mantilla, whose repertoire and distinctly swinging sound carries on in this group.
