The accordionist Felipe Hostins began his music studies at age three with his paternal grandfather, Valmor Hostins. He later joined the School of Music Amormega (Middle Garcia Neighborhood Association), in his hometown of Blumenau, where he studied music theory for accordion for 4 years.

After the death of his grandfather in July 2004, Hostins spent a year away from studies and his instrument. But in 2005 he was invited to join a band of Brazilian alternative rock called La Belle Excuse. He recorded an album with the group. That same year, Hostins started a forró (traditional Brazilian music that originated in the northeast of the country) project with the percussionist Leco Santos and with the singer and composer from Pernambuco Pochyua Andrade, a partnership that endures to the present time.

Brazilian rhythms, such as forró, Sertanejo and Chamamé are Hostins’s specialties.

In 2008, Hostins began his career in Brazilian country music with the duo Leo & Nando where he stayed for two years. In 2009 and 2010, he worked with the duo Sergio Correa & Paulinho Duo, and the Timbrown group, which recorded the DVD TIMBROWN LEVADA SERTANEJA in the city of Blumenau.

In 2012, Hostins joined the DB Studio, where he participated in several recordings of bands and singers, such as Kainan Brass (ex Kaic & Kainan), Edu Farias, Everton & Murilo, Leandro & Evandro, Moses & Luiz Henrique, Carol Hends, John and Luan, Thomas Riolle, Alan Matheus, Leo & Nando, Lud & Leo, Joni Lopes Andrade & Fabiano, Junio and Julio.

In 2013, Hostins Joined the Brazilian Music Conservatory of Itajaí/SC. He started a Brazilian trio called "Trio Boa Fé". The trio recorded an album called Trio Boa Fé. They mix Brazilian rhythms with world music.

In 2014, Hostins attended the Accordion Festival Piçarras / SC, playing alongside the World Champion of Accordion, Bruno Moritz, and also the Brazilian Champion of Accordion, Rafael Petry, as well as the recording of the commemoration of the 40th Career Anniversary of the duo JUNIO AND JULIO.

Hostins is a partner of the "Pink Chair Project", along with the Music Producer and DJ Rodrigo Cabañero, a project that mixes electronic music with Brazilian Rhythms. In 2015 he started with Pochuya Andrade and Leco Santos a tour in Brazil which went through several cities playing the best of forró music. He also became member of the band of forró concert hall of Blumenau called Don Lucchesi.

Hostins works as a composer in his own Brazilian forró project being conducted in partnership with Mauro Refosco (David Byrne, Red Hot Chilli Peppers).

Hostins has played at many Brazilian music festivals, sharing his passion for Brazilian music with large audiences.
